Freedom Tax Preparation

When you’re going through a divorce, you should be as concerned about the future  as you are about the here and now.   Right now, you have tax concerns.  Right now, things are a mess.  You’re on your own and from the perspective of the State and Federal revenue agencies.  You’re obligated to accurately prepare and file your returns in a timely manner.  Take a breath, relax and let us put our years of hands-on experience successfully helping divorced women through this difficult and stressful period.

Tip One:  Relax

The first thing you should do is take a breath and accept the fact that of the many things in your life you are currently unsure of, there’s one of which you can be totally certain – taxes.  Never proceed with something that could lead to short-term loss and long term problems (like taxes) without a clear and steady mind.

Tip Two:  Avoid the Feeling of Being Overwhelmed

When you’re going through a divorce it’s easy to having the feeling of being overwhelmed.  Beyond the personal and emotional issues, there are matters relating to the kids, property, alimony and more.  The fact is, we’re not here to make things harder, but rather to ease your burden.  We’ve helped hundreds of divorcing women, so you rest assured that we know how to help you.

Tip Three:  Get Organized

Easier said than done, we know.  But it’s very, very important and we can help you do it.  Remember, we’ve been through this with many divorced women in the past and we have a very good idea of what you’re going through.  Set some time aside for organizing records, receipts, 1099s, W-2’s and so forth.  Contact us and we’ll help walk you though what to focus on assembling and what not to waste your time worry about right now.  We often find ourselves at your home, looking through piles of papers to sort out what’s important and what can be recycled.  Once we show you how to spot what’s needed, you’ll feel comfortable and confident moving forward.
